Process of learning..

Bismillah wa salam..

Before this, I just take for granted about learning English languange.

When I was in primary school, my English teacher from standard 1 to standard 3 is a beautiful lady but like to yell at us (hihihi). I manage to get 90-100 in each of my English exam, but I don't really like this subject. Fortunately, in my standard 4, we were teached by a very dedicated Indian teacher (man) and for the first time in my life, I found out that learn English is fun.

After UPSR, I continue my secondary education at school that is far from my house (hostel). It is a new school in Pahang at that time and we are the first intake batch. All teachers are graduated from university and they are selected teachers by PPNP (Pejabat Pendidikan Negeri Pahang). It is because our school is in trial mode to upgrade as SBP. I have many great experience there, but not for my English language subject. My English teacher is very very very fluence in speaking English. He just speak English without any explanation in Malay. Yes, it is good exposure, only if you are really good in English. But not for me.. a 13 years old student, from a small village. He called himself 'kamus bergerak'. I learn almost nothing tsk tsk but I don't want to blame anybody except me. But Alhamdulillah, I manage to get B for my PMR (although I told my teacher I think I will fail in English subject.. hahahha).

And, my English is become weak and more weak (which I don't really care) from year to year.. because my basic knowledge about this language is really bad.

I can read English. But I don't know how to write a good sentence with a correct grammar. I don't know what is noun? What is verb? (ok I know the meaning but don't know the function). Don't say about adjective, adverb, possessive.. and so many things in English grammar, everything is blurrrrrr bbb. When I ask my friends that is really good in their English, how to learn English-effectively, they always reply to me, reading English book, novel, article, newspaper bla bla bla, it will build your vocabulary. But still, I can't write and talk in English-only a small progress, a little improvement. Until one day, I found out this site:

Honestly, I don't have much time to read all articles, but I just want to know the 'key'. I am surfing the above site to find about what is recommended book and tools, because I really admire his explanation. Simple and easy but understandable. He also has his own 'Manual Pembelajaran' and I think I will buy it soon (after I finish my curent book).

To make it short, he recommended books by Betty Azar (I did not ask him, I just read in one of his article), I googled and found out about Betty Schrampfer Azar book. There have 3 main series, BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR (for beginner), FUNDAMENTAL ENGLISH GRAMMAR (for intermediate user) and UNDERSTANDING AND USING ENGLISH GRAMMAR (for advance user). Click here for her website.

I searched the availability of BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR book in university's library and Alhamdulillah, there have copies. So, at the beginning I borrowed BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR and BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR WORKBOOK and it it highly recommended for the beginner like me. Hihihih. Now, it is clear what is noun (countable and uncountable noun), adjective, be, verb, adverb, do, does etc. Ok, now I'm in Chapter 3 out of 16. Still have a long journey. So, it is normal if my entry got so many mistakes.

Ok. That's all my essay for today. Thank you. Daaaaa.. happy weekend.
